With the Miami Dolphins still surrounded by rumors and speculation about a potential Deshaun Watson trade, owner Stephen Ross has been dragged into the reporting.
In most cases, football operations are typically left to the general managers, but, with all of the complications a trade for the Texans quarterback would provide, the owner would obviously have much more input than on another trade.
On Monday, it was reported by Peter King that he’s heard that Ross hasn’t been the driving force behind a trade, while others have said otherwise.
Tuesday, at a league meeting, Ross reportedly saw reporters waiting for him, laughed, and said “I know what it’s about and I’m not dealing with it.”
While the response is relatable, the owner has to know that this is just adding more fuel to the fire. He could go out and say that the rumors are nothing more than rumors, and that would at least calm down the media frenzy surrounding the team.
Instead, this will now be picked apart and will likely lead to more questions.
