Stephen Robinson's Storm Dennis fear as Motherwell vs St Mirren could be called off again

Boss Stephen Robinson fears his Motherwell side's Scottish Cup fifth-round replay against St Mirren is under threat from Storm Dennis.

Saturday's scheduled Premiership fixture between the teams was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and the heavy rain hasn't subsided since that Fir Park pitch inspection.

Robinson said: "It will be touch and go again. I think the forecast isn't great but it is meant to calm down towards the game.

"We have a superb groundsman and ground staff and they will do everything in their power to get it on. We are desperate to get it on and progress."

The winter storm wreaked havoc on football fixtures around the UK as Rangers' league game against Livingston was also postponed, albeit only by 24 hours.

Ayr United vs Morton in the Championship and Brechin vs Annan in League Two were also ruled unplayable and are due to be rescheduled.

Just a week earlier Storm Ciara turned the fixture slate into a gusty farce as many games were spoiled by high winds and Peterhead vs Forfar was abandoned mid-game.
