Stephen O'Donnell has signed a new two-year deal at Motherwell to put an end to the transfer speculation surrounding the Scotland right-back.
Former Kilmarnock man O'Donnell signed for the Steelmen last summer, initially only until January.
But he's settled in well in Lanarkshire despite an up-and-down season that has seen the departure of Stephen Robinson and a bottom-half Premiership finish.
He's even captained the team in the absence of Declan Gallagher and Trevor Carson and his deal now runs until 2023.
And it was as a Motherwell player that O'Donnell played a massive role, alongside Gallagher, in punching Scotland's ticket to a major finals for the first time since 1998 in the form of this summer's Euros.
Manager Graham Alexander said: “We’re very happy that Stephen has signed a new contract and decided to continue his career with us.
“He’s been brilliant since we came into the club both on and off the pitch.
“He’s a current and valued member of the national squad and feels he can be successful with us at Motherwell.
“We believe his best years are ahead of him and he’s a great example to others on how to be a top professional.”
