Stephen O'Donnell extends Motherwell contract as club bid to tie him down long-term

Motherwell defender Stephen O'Donnell has extended his stay at Fir Park until the end of the season.

It's been a busy day at Fir Park following the arrivals of winger Jordan Roberts and defender Eddie Nolan, plus contract extensions for Robbie Crawford and Charles Dunne.

And as the day draws to a close the Steelmen have announced Scotland international O'Donnell will remain with the club until at least the end of the season.

And the club stated they "are also engaged in positive talks with O’Donnell about the possibility of extending his deal beyond the current campaign."

Boss Graham Alexander is thrilled to keep the Wishaw native at the club.

He said: “We’re delighted Stephen is staying with us.

“When I took the job, the first target was to hold on to our best players. We’ve achieved that in this window with all of the squad.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Stephen for the remainder of the campaign and hopefully beyond.”
