Stephen Nolan reveals his weight loss success as he reaches first milestone

Stephen Nolan has revealed he's shed an impressive three stone in just eight weeks.

The BBC presenter has been on a weight loss mission in recent months and has been charting his progress online, often sharing pictures of his gym sessions.

Today, he revealed he's reached his first milestone having shed three stone in eight weeks and said he intends to lose a further four stone to reach his target.

Revealing the news on his Twitter, Stephen posted: "A wee milestone for me - Tuesday is my weigh day . I’ve lost 3 stones exactly in 8 weeks. 4 more stones to go."

The 45-year-old has previously publicly documented his weight loss attempts including TV documentaries 'Food on the Brain' and 'Biggest Diet in the Country'. He previously lost six stone back in 2014 but admits piling the weight back on in recent years.

Nolan revealed he weighed 20st 8lbs on February 5 and has shared regular updates on his progress via Twitter.

He has often confessed on the social media platform that 'all he can think about is failure' due to previous attempts, but he's giving it a go.

In one post he said: "First time I’ve done 2 miles in years. Though no Adrenalin boost tonight. Wee voice in my head telling me I’ll always be fat."

In another he said: "40 of 60 done . All I can think of is failure. Because everytime I try to lose weight, I fail. Last 20mins of 60 starting right now."

But lots of supportive followers have been spurring the presenter along with some even sharing stories of their own weight loss journey to encourage him to keep going.

Speaking on his BBC Nolan radio show on Tuesday morning Nolan told listeners it's been tough but he's starting to feel the benefits.

He explained: "I went to the gym the other night and I was nearly sick on the cross trainer and I'm so fat I shouldn't have got on the running machine but I did for a few weeks and I've wrecked my leg and I don't know what to do about it, the whole muscle at the back of my leg is wrecked."

He added: "I've lost three stone today but unfortunately I'm that fat I've another five to go but I feel slightly better with three stone off except I've wrecked my leg because I didn't realise that if you're a fat man and you go on the running machine you'll wreck your leg which is what I've done."
