OXNARD, Calif. _ Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones chuckled when asked about an unflattering picture of Tony Romo that went viral early on in camp.
The picture makes it appear Romo is overweight, but that couldn't be further from the truth in Jones' mind.
"He's in great shape," Jones said. "I think he's in some of the best shape he's been in. Everybody can always get a picture taken of you that makes it look different than it is. But Tony is in great shape."
Asked if he ribbed Romo about the picture, Jones smiled and said: "I don't joke with Tony. ... Tony, actually, I go in there and work out and Tony is in great shape."
All offseason, the Cowboys have praised Romo for his work. Teammates and coaches have said Romo is throwing the ball better than ever and expect him to fully bounce back after a dreadful 2015 season in which he fractured his collarbone twice.
