Stephen Jones responds to Josh Norman’s comments about Dak Prescott

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman turned some heads this week when he had some comments concerning Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Essentially, Norman wasn’t impressed with Prescott’s 405 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1, citing a lack of pressure in his face.

Now, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones has weighed in on the topic, on 105.3 The Fan (h/t The Athletic’s Jon Machota):

“Not a lot of good comes from being critical of a team or anybody on that team as you’re getting ready to play them. Certainly they’re messing with one of the top competitors in this game in Dak. And I’m sure he took that to heart, and not that he’s not already ready to go play and play at a high level, but certainly look forward to seeing how that plays out.”

For what it’s worth, this rivalry swung both directions last year. In a win over the Redskins, Prescott threw for 289 yards and two scores. In a loss, 273 yards and one score.

Going into this one, Norman has thrown a little fuel on the fire, though based on his comments, if his guys can get consistent pressure he can come out ahead at home.
