Stephen Graham spotted filming scenes for Peaky Blinders at docks

New addition to the cast of Peaky Blinders, Stephen Graham, has been spotted filming scenes for the hit BBC drama in Liverpool.

On April 29, the This is England and Line of Duty star, 47, was revealed to be making an appearance in the hit show in a tweet from the Peaky Blinders Twitter account.

The post showed a photo of Graham in a waist coat with the caption: "We’re thrilled that @StephenGraham73 has joined the cast of #PeakyBlinders series 6."

There's been speculation as to what role Graham's new character will play with some suggesting he could be playing the part of Chicago mob boss, Al Capone.

BBC Drama Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham but has been filmed in Liverpool since 2012.

Its stars include Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby, and Helen McCrory, who sadly died last month, playing Aunt Polly.

Filming is underway at a variety of locations in the city including the Welsh Streets, the Tobacco warehouse at Stanley Dock, the State Ballroom on Dale Street and in Port Sunlight.

Photos published on Friday in the Daily Mail, show him smiling as he joined cast and crew to shoot scenes at the Bramley Moore Dock while wearing a period costume

A grey waistcoat and slacks over a white shirt gave few clues as to his character's mysterious identity.

It's reported he was due to shoot scenes for the highly anticipated sixth series last year but filming was halted due to the pandemic.

Last month, filming was temporarily halted again before resuming after a crew member received a negative test result.

A spokesperson for the show told the Radio Times: "Filming was stood down on Peaky Blinders because of a false positive test result for a member of the crew."
