Line Of Duty star Stephen Graham has revealed that a bout of 'really bad' depression saw him attempt suicide.
Speaking openly about his mental health issues during his twenties, Steven explained that 'good fortune' was the only thing that saved him from dying.
He told The Sunday Times: " In my early twenties, I suffered from really bad depression and tried to take my own life once.
"Thankfully, the rope snapped and I’m here today.

"But I know the loneliness, isolation and feeling you can’t cope in the world."
Best known for his role as Andrew "combo" Gascoigne in This is England and its television sequels, and as Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire, Stephen Graham has a catalogue of critically acclaimed films and TV shows under his belt.
Stephen, from Kirkby, has been in Hollywood films such as Gangs of New York, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

He has also taken on roles in many popular television programmes, playing Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly in Little Boy Blue, as well as starring in Line of Duty and The Virtues.
The star recently revealed that having dyslexia means his wife Hannah Walters pick his roles for him, as she will read scripts to him and understand them ahead of a shoot.
He said: "I'm dyslexic so I struggle. My missus actually reads the script and says whether or not I'm doing it. She's made some good choices.
"I have to read it and read it and read it, then make it look like it's the first time I'm saying it."
