Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters say society is still feeling the ‘ripple effect’ a year on from Adolescence

Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters have reflected on Adolescence a year on, saying that society is “still feeling the ripple effect” from the Netflix phenomenon.

Speaking to The Independent at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards on Wednesday (18 March), Walters, who was an executive producer on the show, said that it “metaphorically opened the doors to children's bedrooms in order for us to have conversations”.

“We're still feeling the ripple effect a year later with Adolescence”, she added.

Looking back, Graham said the production was “the most enjoyable thing” he has ever been a part of, apart from having children and marriage.

“ To have this whole journey with our entire cast and crew for that recognition has been absolutely wonderful.”
