Stephen Glass blames Celtic winner on luckless streak as Aberdeen boss makes 'argumentative' player admission

Stephen Glass insists luck again deserted Aberdeen after coming undone against Celtic by a cruel deflection.

The Dons boss believes his side can still retain big positives from their display in a 2-1 defeat which was sealed with Callum McGregor 's freak winner.

Despite a run of just two wins in their last 16 games, Glass was upbeat and talked up the positives from a result which leaves them eighth in the Premiership table

He said: "You know the quality Celtic have before you come here and they showed it in abundance

"Our group of players stood up to it and we were difficult to play against.

"We did carry a threat especially in the first half and ultimately it was a deflection that cost us.

"When the winner goes in the way it did it was not from getting picked open.

"The defensive work rate of the group was brilliant in the first half the threat we carried was good as well.

"That disappeared a wee bit in the second half.

"The players are disappointed and they're a bit argumentative in there, which I am happy with. It shows their character.

"It takes bravery to come out in these matches and press the way that they did and take the ball the way they did.

"I'm pleased with what the players gave us and more of the same in the next couple of games and we’ll be fine."

The Dons are also facing the prospect of facing Livingston midweek without Scott Brown who strained a hamstring as well as Dylan McGeough who was also forced off with an injury.

It all adds up to a pile of woes for the Dons boss who admits it didn't help their cause.

He said: "We had to reshuffle when we didn’t want to as two of our midfield players had to go off.

"That limits how much you can change things higher up. Dylan got a bang on his calf in the first half and it was tightening up and had to come off. Broony had a little bit of tightness in his hamstring.

"I don’t know if it’s cramp or injury. If there is any chance of him playing he will be there."
