Stephen Garrett pens classy farewell message to fans after leaving Cliftonville

Stephen Garrett has penned a classy farewell message to Cliftonville fans after leaving the club.

The versatile forward spent 10 years with the Reds, helping the North Belfast club win a number of trophies including back-to-back titles in 2013 and '14.

"All good things must come to an end," Garrett said in a message posted on his social media.

"Thank you to each and very one of you for your amazing support over the last decade.

"It only seems like yesterday I made my debut against Cibalia...I guess time flies when you're having fun!

"I'll be forever proud to have spent over 10 years and played over 350 games at suck a fantastic club. I've made some incredible memories  and brilliant friendships that will last a lifetime.

"For that I'll be forever grateful."

The 33-year-old added: "I wish the players, board and fans every success in the coming seasons and look forward to returning to Solitude in the not too distant future.

"#OnceARedForeverARed."

Cliftonville's season ended yesterday following their agonising penalty shootout defeat to Glentoran in the semi-finals of the Sadler's Peaky Blinder Irish Cup.
