Stephen Fry says 'cringe' shows like Strictly are like 'nails down a blackboard'

Stephen Fry says says there is no danger of seeing him cha cha cha-ing on Strictly Come Dancing .

The 62-year-old broadcaster, described the show as 'cringe' and said compared it to 'nails on a blackboard.'

Fry was asked if he'd be interested in heading to the dancefloor during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The former QI host is currently on top form after shedding six stone by walking 'eight miles every morning' at a speed of 'just over four miles an hour'.

Fry ruled out a future appearance on Strictly despite his new fitness.

"I loathe dancing. It embarrasses me. Not only to do it but to watch other people do it," he told Ross.

"The Strictly-type thing I find absolutely nails on a blackboard. It's an allergy. I can't bear dancing. It makes me cringe."
