Ex-martial arts fighter Stephen French will appear in court today charged with rape.
Stephen French, 56, of Lazonby Close, Bidston, is charged with rape, two charges of assault, and making a threat to kill.
French, who is currently in custody, is set to be produced before Liverpool magistrates today for his first appearance over the allegations.
Court sheets allege that he raped a woman, and assaulted a woman by beating her on two occasions.
French is also accused of making a threat to kill a man, intending that the man “would fear that the said threat would be carried out”.
Ex-champion kickboxer French, who fought under the name The Warrior, has headed the anti-gun Increase The Peace programme.
His biography, The Devil, chronicled his activities in Liverpool in the 1980s and 1990s.
