Stephen Curry rolls up to final game at Oracle in a Monta Ellis jersey

As the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors roll up to Oracle Arena on Sunday for the final regular season game before the playoffs and the move to the brand new Chase Center next season, Stephen Curry walked in representing the old “We Believe” Warriors in a Monta Ellis jersey.

Ellis spent 6.5 seasons in Golden State before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2012 in a trade that brought Andrew Bogut to Golden State. He averaged 19.6 points and 4.4 assists during his time with the Warriors and delivered a lot of big moments.

Curry and Ellis played together for 2.5 seasons before the Warriors decided to move on from Ellis and make Curry the guy in Golden State.

There was some question marks about the move due to Curry’s ankle injuries at the time, but looking back on the move, it turned out to be a pretty solid decision. Two MVP awards, a 73 win season, and three championships should confirm that thought.

The Warriors do battle with the Los Angeles Clippers at 5:30 p.m. PST for the final home game at the place so affectionately called “Roaracle”.
