Dec. 31--Actor Stephen Collins and his estranged wife, Faye Grant, have sold the second of their two Brentwood homes for $3 million -- $150,000 more than the asking price.
The couple listed the Cape Cod-inspired home, along with an adjoining property, in October for $2.85 million. The neighboring home, a 2,583-square-foot Traditional, sold last week for $3 million, or $300,000 more than the original price.
The home, built in 1951 and since updated, sits behind gates and tall privacy hedges with a covered patio, a spa and a two-story guest house on slightly more than a quarter-acre.
The 2,756 square feet of living space include a dining room, a living room with mosaic-tiled fireplace, a center-island kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. A step-down family room, complete with a raised ceiling, built-ins and French doors, opens onto the landscaped grounds.
Elyse Arbour and Mary Lu Tuthill of Rodeo Realty, Brentwood, were the listing agents. Alejandro Aldrete of The Agency represented the buyer in the sale.
Collins, who starred on the television series "7th Heaven," has come under fire in recent months after it was revealed that he was being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department and New York police for alleged sexual abuse. The actor recently admitted to past misconduct in a statement released earlier this month.
