Stephen Colbert pays up on bet with Charles Barkey after Auburn makes Final Four

While appearing on The Late Show last week and talking about the Jussie Smollett case in which charges against the Empire actor were dropped, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and host Stephen Colbert made a little wager on the Auburn and North Carolina Sweet 16 game.

Despite the fact that Colbert is from South Carolina, he took the Tar Heels to beat Barkley’s alma mater. Whoever won Friday’s game would have to wear a hideously ugly tie on the air, a green and beige number with some white stripes that Barkley said he’d need to look “deep, deep, deep in (his) closet” to match it.

As you know, Barkley’s Tigers are on to the Final Four. Colbert did not welch, breaking open a case marked “in case of losing bet, break glass” and put on the tie:
