Stephen Clements' co-star Cate Conway shares video of presenter sobbing on their last show

Stephen Clements' devastated co-star Cate Conway has shared emotional footage of their last ever radio show together, after the Irish star died at the age of 47 .

Stephen, whose cause of death is yet to be officially confirmed, previously co-presented a show on Q Radio before he was head-hunted to the BBC last September.

Cate tweeted the poignant end to their final show together, captioning the heartbreaking footage: "The end of our last show. I hadn’t planned to share this ever but I think it says a lot now."

She went on: "Best friend, brother, soul mate, eejit. So funny and so much fun. I will miss him forever."

The sweet video shows both of them hugging and crying as Take That's Never Forget played over the airwaves.

Cate also referred to Stephen as her "on-air husband" on Tuesday, hours after news of his sudden death broke.

She explained the two "could read each others minds" and said every minute working with Stephen was "an absolute joy".

On Instagram , she wrote: "At the end of our very last show together, I set my camera running so we’d have a wee memory of the end. I hadn't ever planned to post this although Stephen did use a later part in a tweet.

"The deal was that we would definitely work together again at some stage in the future."

She went on: "We stayed as close as we were in those 4 and a half years and now I'm totally and completely heartbroken and lost. He wasn't a co-worker. He was the arm that dragged me through some of my darkest days. He was the shoulder I cried on. He was the eejit who tormented me and called me hairy handed moonface. He was a soul mate.

"Thank you for all your messages of love and support. I’m exactly as you imagine I am but it has been a huge help to hear from you. #stephenandcateatbreakfast ," Cate added.

Stephen leaves behind his wife Natasha and their two young children, Poppy and Robbie.
