Steohen Bradley believes Rhys Marshall’s versatility is a coup for Shamrock Rovers after sealing a deal for the Glenavon ace today.
A Cardiff City target two years ago, Marshall, 24, is primarily a right-back but can play in a number of other positions.
He will make his final appearance for Glenavon today when they host Coleraine in the Irish Cup fifth round, before joining the Hoops for pre-season next week.
Rovers boss Bradley said: “Rhys has lots of good attributes. He’s young and hungry and he’s played a lot of games for someone so young.
“We’ve watched him for quite some time and we made contact with the club to see if a deal could be done and thankfully it could be.
“He can play in a number of positions – right back, centre back, centre midfield and I’ve seen him play left-back as well. He strengthens us as a team and a squad.”
