Stephen Bradley hails the togetherness at Shamrock Rovers after Apollon Limassol comeback

Stephen Bradley hailed the togetherness at Shamrock Rovers after the Hoops came from behind in Europe to win for the second week running.

And he insists Rovers can go to Cyprus next week and dump Apollon Limassol out of the Europa League.

Bradley said: “People probably thought I was mad before the game when I said they were a good side but that we could win the tie.

“But 100% I believe we can progress. I believe in this group and I think we can go anywhere and win games - it doesn’t matter who we play against.

“That’s been there since the AIK games last year and it’s been building and building and anyone watching us closely would have seen it coming.”

Bradley continued: “We showed character and togetherness and we never looked rattled despite going behind.

“We should have defended the cross for their goal but it was an unbelievable strike into the top corner, but what was important was how we responded.”

Jack Byrne gave another masterclass and Bradley said: “His delivery is always on point and we’re getting more goals from set plays.

“When the timing is right and the space is right, we’ll get chances but he’s a proper player and works so hard for the team.  He was the best player on the park.”

But focus turns to Cork City at Turner’s Cross on Sunday and Bradley added: “It’s only half-time in this tie and we have to park that now.

“We’ll put it to bed until we travel out to Cyprus on Monday. But this team can win games as they are together.”
