Stephen Bradley claims it would be wrong to have FAI Cup semis at Aviva Stadium

Stephen Bradley claims it would be wrong to stage FAI Cup semi-finals at Aviva Stadium.

Shamrock Rovers face arch rivals Bohemians in the last four at a sold-out Dalymount Park next Friday night.

Gypsies boss Keith Long said this week that he wished it could be played at the Aviva, possibly as a double-header with the Sligo Rovers-Dundalk game.

But his Rovers counterpart Bradley said yesterday: “No, I don’t think it’s right because the two teams that get to the final at the Aviva have earned the right to get there.

“You could also end up with two teams that could maybe have 5,000 in the Aviva and it really doesn’t add up.

“I get that us and Bohs would sell 20,000 or 30,000 - I’ve no doubt about that. But as an overall rule, I don’t see how it would work.”
