Stephen A. Smith: Kyrie telling Nets he wants to go there over Knicks

Kyrie Irving appears to be one of the most in-play free agents among the stars available in the upcoming period, which is now less than a month away from starting. And while Irving stirred the pot during a recent visit to Madison Square Garden, it appears that his affinity for playing in the Big Apple may lie in Brooklyn.

According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Irving has apparently indicated as much to the Nets organization. Even though Knicks could potentially land Kevin Durant, Irving and even Anthony Davis via trade, it appears Irving is opting for the organic growth in Brooklyn that led to a playoff berth this spring.

Irving is also potentially considering a move to the Lakers, where he could reunite with LeBron James. A move that according to their former teammate Richard Jefferson would be ill-advised. But with James entering his 17th season and six months away from turning 35, adding talent like Irving while being a little more uncomfortable is one of LeBron’s best hopes to get back to the NBA Finals.
