Patience?
Stephen A. Smith has none — not for the New York Knicks.
Talk of the 2019 NBA Draft seemed to trigger the ESPN analyst on Thursday morning during an appearance on “Get Up!” Smith seemed to enter the set with a short fuse, as he was yelling at a few co-hosts before the segment began. Once the cameras were rolling, it was more of the same. His co-hosts asked Smith to be patient with the Knicks, who have the No. 3 overall pick and reportedly intend to select Duke’s R.J. Barrett. They’re also expected to be active in free agency, with endless cap space.
Smith, who pointed to the last time New York won a championship (1973), was beyond the point of patience.
It’s just another day and another rant for Stephen A.
