While Shannon Sharpe has moved from UNDISPUTED to First Take, he still has an issue with mixing up his co-hosts. Despite now working with Stephen A. Smith, Sharpe has called his partner “Skip” multiple times in the last week—alluding to Fox’s Skip Bayless.
That slip-up happened once again on Tuesday, as Sharpe got upset with himself by calling Smith the wrong name during the show. However, Smith was extremely sympathetic over the mistake.
“Will folks calm the F*** down please. The man (Sharpe) worked with Skip for 2 1/2 hours every single weekday for 6 1/2 YEARS! I’m surprised he hasn’t called me Skip more,” Smith said on social media. “Honest mistake. Nobody is fazed this way! So long as he shows up to First Take when I ask, we are good!”

It is understandable that Sharpe would need to get used to debating Smith instead of Bayless, and it is clear that he is bothered anytime he makes the same mistake. However, social media can be cruel, and anytime he calls Smith “Skip” by accident, Sharpe will get criticized.
As the two get acclimated to working together, Smith appears to be understanding when it comes to allowing Sharpe to get familiar with his new surroundings.
