Le Mans president Thierry Gomez confesses "it's an open secret" that Celtic target Stephane Diarra has plenty of options for a transfer.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Neil Lennon 's side, whether this month or next summer.
However the owner of his current side has pointed to the example of a Juventus superstar to try and convince the youngster to stay.
Gomez told Ouest France: "I don't need to say to you that he's not sought after, it's an open secret.
"We'll see Stephane with the coach. The idea is to build a career for him.
"I gave him the example of Blaise Matuidi who was at Troyes when I was president there and opted to stay for one more year.
"It's not ruled out that he could stay with us for next season but it's also up to him to decide.
"I think Le Mans would be a good club for him to build a career and right now he's under contract with us."
Diarra has been catching the eye in Ligue 2 and Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City and Newcastle are also believed to keeping tabs on his development.
