Steph missed his 1st basketball game because he didn’t do his chores

Imagine if we never got to see Steph Curry play basketball because he refused to do his chores. In some weird, alternate universe, this was a real possibility.

In an interview with Today, Sonya Curry confirmed that Steph missed his first ever middle school game because he didn’t do his chores the night before.

Reporter: “So tell me if this is true: I read that Steph Curry had his first middle school basketball game, and he didn’t do his chores the night before, so he didn’t get to play?”

Sonya: “That’s absolutely true. We only work as a family if everybody does their part. It’s not my job to do everything for everybody. […] If one thing didn’t work at home, it then affected all the other things outside the home.”

It’s a good thing that Steph learned his lesson pretty quickly, but it’s also good to know that even kids with dads in the NBA had to do the same things as the rest of us. It’s a shame that the chores I was forced to do didn’t help with my jumper.

For all the kids reading at home, if Steph did it, you can do it too. Go take care of those dishes before heading outside to work on your jumper.
