Steph McGovern has hit back at speculation her Channel 4 TV show is set for the axe.
After low figures, which saw the show register zero viewers at one point, rumours started suggesting the lunchtime magazine programme might be pulled from the air.
Bookmaker Ladbrokes has offered short odds on Channel 4 dropping Steph’s Packed Lunch - which is filmed at Leeds Dock. Punters could get odds of 3/1 that it will get axed.
Jessica O'Reilly, of Ladbrokes, said: "Sadly for Steph her Packed Lunch hasn't quite whet the appetites of viewers and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the show axed."
Host Steph, 38, has dashed the speculation insisting the show goes on. Our colleagues at The Mirror report the presenter took to Twitter to tell fans the programme will remain on air.
After a Twitter follower asked "Is your show closing?", Steph replied with a defiant: "Nope".
Obviously, this is quite a short, sharp statement but it tallies with noises coming from Channel 4.
A spokesperson said: "Steph has brought a blast of energy to our daytime line up and we're delighted with the live shows the team has produced."
We’ll bring you more on the future of Steph’s Packed Lunch when we get it.
