Steph Curry surprises kids at first official Chase Center visit

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry visited Chase Center on Wednesday, his first official tour since the inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony that same day. Although Curry, like anyone, appears to be dazzled by the state-of-the-art sports and entertainment space, the three-time NBA champion also has mixed feelings.

He and the Warriors built their legacy at Oracle Arena in Oakland, which seems to hold sentimental value for Curry and others in the Golden State franchise.

“We’ll create new memories,” Curry said, of the team’s move to Chase Center.

The fun-loving father of three never skimps on the chance to have fun so, on Wednesday, there was no time better than the present to bring smiles to the faces of some unsuspecting kids.

At Chase Center plaza to participate in a Sweatworking event in support of gender-based equity, equality and financial health, Curry sneaked away to surprise a group of 300 students, according to San Francisco Chronicle‘s Rusty Simmons.

The Warriors start their journey — with a new-look team in a new arena — in a preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 5.
