Steph Curry reveals what set the tone for Warriors’ loss to Raptors

The Golden State Warriors suffered a heavy loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Steph Curry had one of his worst games in recent seasons. He struggled to affect the game on the offensive end while missing all nine of his 3-point attempts. The loss was Golden State’s 19th of the season.

When speaking to the media following the game, Curry shared what he believes set the tone for the Warriors’ underperformance. He noted how a mistake early in the contest changed how Golden State approached things for the rest of the night and led to some difficult stretches on both sides of the ball.

“It was a tough start,” Curry said. “We had a weird turnover that set the tone. Then, every time they got a stop, they kind of ran it right back at us. Took advantage of their size advantage. Then it becomes a game where you’re chasing right out the game. So got punked from the jump, not the way that you want to come out. Yeah, it was a rough one.”

Curry also noted that the concern level will continue to grow within the franchise if the team has more tough losses like the one against the Raptors. However, the concern level has clearly been rising in recent weeks. Right now, the Warriors are struggling to string wins, especially in a meaningful way against high-level opposition.

As such, the front office will likely be tempted to explore trade possibilities. Otherwise, the current rotation will be under pressure to bounce back from their rough start to the season and prove they’re still capable of being a championship team. Fortunately, there’s a lot of basketball left to be played, and events can change quickly.
