Steph Curry recorded his 300th made 3-pointer of the season

For the third time in his career, Steph Curry has made at least 300 3-pointers on the season. Curry set the single-season record in the 2015-16 season when he knocked down 402 on the season. In the next season, Curry dropped 324 on the year and was the only player in NBA history to accomplish the feat.

Earlier this month, James Harden joined Curry as the only two players in NBA history to make 300 in a win over the Charlotte Hornets.

With 12 games left to play after tonight, Curry is going to surpass his second-best season even if he just makes two per night for the rest of the year. To break his own record, he’d have to knock down an unreal 8.5 per game, which does not seem like a reasonable ask for a guy who has been slumping for a couple weeks now.

Curry has three other seasons with at least 260 made 3-pointers, and if it weren’t for injuries, there’s no doubt that Curry would have eclipsed that 402 mark at some point this year.

With the volume Curry is shooting them, he’s going to have more opportunities to take a shot at breaking the record he set in 2016. 300 is still a big deal, though. Congrats again to the best shooter of all time.
