Steph Curry ranked No. 2 in ESPN’s three defining superstars of 2010s

Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry is the best shooter of all time, and with his elite shooting he’s solidified his position as one of the game’s most influential players.

ESPN recently put together a list of three NBA superstars who defined the 2010s, and Curry ranked No. 2. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James ranked No. 1, and Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant ranked third. Earlier this week, Curry ranked No. 1 on ESPN’s best shooters of the decade.

Curry changed the way NBA defenses game plan for opponents forever, forcing teams to stretch their defensive coverages well beyond the three-point line. And even when defenses apply pressure, sometimes that’s still not enough. Curry has one of the quickest releases ever, and it allows him to fling the ball over opponents’ hands with ease.

A two-time MVP and three-time champion, Curry has shot a career 43.6% from the three-point line. During the 2015-16 season, Curry had a historic year shooting the ball, capturing a 50/40/90 season in which he averaged 30.1 points a game.

Curry has ranked in the top 10 for three-point field goals nine times during his career, and he ranks third in league history for the category. He also ranks fifth all-time in three-point field goal percentage.

The sport will likely never see a shooter like Curry again. The lightning-quick release, the mesmerizing handles, the limitless range — all those facets of Curry’s game make him one of the best players of the decade.
