Steph Curry out at least 3 months after surgery on broken left hand

SAN FRANCISCO _ Warriors guard Stephen Curry will miss at least three months after undergoing surgery Friday to repair his broken left hand, the team announced.

Curry's CT scan results were reviewed by specialists who determined he should have surgery to repair a broken second metacarpal in his left hand. Curry, 31, will be reevaluated in three months. The two-time MVP is expected to miss 45 games, and possibly more.

The injury occurred when Curry was fouled by Suns center Aron Baynes on a layup attempt in the third quarter of the Warriors' loss to the Suns Wednesday. Curry fell to the floor and Baynes fell backward onto Curry's hand.

In four games this season, Curry averaged 20.3 points, 6.5 assists and 5 rebounds per game.
