Steph Curry not ready to give up on Warriors season

Steph Curry isn’t ready to throw in the towel on the Golden State Warriors‘ season.

The veteran superstar’s declaration came after his team’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. The loss leaves Golden State one game ahead of the Houston Rockets, who are surging toward the play-in tournament.

Curry played 29 minutes against Minnesota. He scored 31 points on 9-of-21 shooting. However, his floor spacing and relentless movement weren’t enough to give his team an edge over one of the better teams in the Western Conference. Nevertheless, Curry refused to sound downcast when speaking to the media following the game.

“The situation will define itself pretty clearly,” Curry said. “It is in real time. Every game matters. We’re inching closer to the other end of the standings. Nobody’s gonna wave the white flag. If that means playing more minutes, I’ll be ready to do that.”

Golden State’s season has been littered with inconsistency. It has done a good job stringing wins when bouncing back from a losing streak.

Now, with the postseason on the line, the Warriors need to muster some high-level performances on both ends of the floor. The championship core doesn’t have too many seasons together left. They do not want to see one wasted because they’ve been unable to figure out an identity.
