Steph Curry underwent an MRI scan on his injured right ankle on Tuesday but the Warriors said the test revealed nothing of concern.
The reigning NBA MVP rolled his ankle in the Warriors’ first game of their playoff series against Houston on Saturday, and and missed Game 2 on Monday night. Curry is expected to continue treatment in preparation for Thursday’s Game 3 in Houston; he is still listed as questionable.
Golden State blew out the Rockets 104-78 on Saturday with Curry in the team, but Monday night’s game was much closer: Klay Thompson scored 34 points and dished out five assists and the Warriors held off the Houston Rockets 115-106 at Oracle Arena. Shaun Livingston had 16 points and six assists playing in Curry’s place.
After the win, Kerr reiterated that the priority for the team is the Curry’s health.
“We want to make sure Steph is right and that his foot is fine and healthy,” he said. “Fortunately we don’t play till Thursday and he’s got some time to get some treatment.
“We’ll see how he responds the next couple of days, and if he’s not right, obviously being up 2-0 does give us more cushion if we decide to sit him. But it will be based on his health, not the series score,.”
