Steph Curry moves family to Bay Area’s Atherton, wealthiest zip code in the country

With the Golden State Warriors’ move from Oracle Arena in Oakland to Chase Center in San Francisco, the team’s players, coaches and staff had to find ways to make their daily commute more manageable. For superstar Stephen Curry, that meant purchasing a $31 million tri-level mansion in Atherton — the wealthiest zip code in the nation.

The Athletic‘s Marcus Thompson reported on Sept. 9, the day of the Chase Center ribbon-cutting ceremony, that the team’s franchise player had already moved to live closer to the team’s new home. Now, Variety magazine provides some details on Curry’s new digs, but it appears journalist James McClain had to do quite a bit of digging to figure them out. The digging was required because the house wasn’t listed publicly.

Thanks to McClain’s efforts, here’s what we know about the mansion the Warriors superstar will call home:

Details on Steph Curry’s new digs

Curry’s three-story mansion has enough surrounding property and lavish amenities to make it an estate. The house is gated and barely visible from the street, sits on a 1.2-acre lot and, according to McClain, has:

  • three full levels in traditional and contemporary styles
  • long gated driveway, off-street parking for at least six cars
  • detached three-car garage with loft space above it
  • “glassy” exterior and “multi-winged” design
  • landscaping of “lush plantings and native flora … extensive lawns, formal gardens and generous terraces”
  • extra-large swimming pool and large patio in back
  • poolside cabana with fireplace and built-in BBQ
  • small guesthouse at the very back of the property

Curry, his celebrity chef wife Ayesha and their three children may be new in the neighborhood, but that doesn’t mean everyone is a stranger. The three-time champion counts as an Atherton neighbor Joe Lacob, Warriors majority owner.

Oh, to be young, gifted and … super-mega-rich.

Dub Nation will get a first look at the new-look Warriors when they open the preseason against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center on Saturday, Oct. 5.
