Steph Curry, Klay Thompson Had Drastically Different Opinions About Fans Booing Warriors

As the Golden State Warriors attempt to battle out of a brutal eight-game stretch featuring six losses while navigating numerous trade rumors, it appears fans are as frustrated as ever. And during their 141–105 home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, fans showered down boos from all over the arena.

The reaction was understandable, but the responses from the Warriors’ star backcourt duo, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, when asked about it were massively different.

“… We’re obviously struggling, there’s nothing to really cheer about. … I don’t take it any certain type of way, honestly I’m booing myself, booing our team in my head because of the way we’re playing,” Curry told reporters

“Fans are going to react the way that they want, it’s our job to give them something to cheer about, and we have not done that.”

Thompson was asked virtually the same question and shrugged it off with a short, direct answer.

“I don’t care. You supposed to lose sleep over it?” Thompson said shrugging.

The long pause from Curry at the beginning was likely filled with a number of different thoughts, and his approach to the topic was so significantly different than Thompson’s that it drew plenty of attention.

As both reporters stated, this was the second game in a row home fans have booed the Warriors, also doing so in a loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, Jan. 7.
