Steph Curry, Klay Thompson are the only two players in NBA history to do this

Klay Thompson made his 200th 3-pointer of the season on Wednesday night’s win over the Houston Rockets, making this year his seventh consecutive season knocking down at least 200 from beyond the arc.

The only other player in NBA history to reach 200 seven years in a row: his brother in splashes, Steph Curry.

While Curry is widely regarded as the best shooter in the history of the NBA, sometimes Thompson doesn’t get enough credit for his consistency from beyond the arc — and never before in the history of the league has a backcourt been more deadly from so far away from the rim.

When asked about the achievement, Curry ranked it at the top of his list of career accomplishments, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.

“No. 1 for sure. No. 1. Definitely,” the two-time NBA MVP jokingly said following Golden State’s win over Houston on Wednesday night. “I’m gonna need to get that little one-pager with me like this (mimics himself shooting) and Klay like that (mimics Klay shooting) — and “200” and “seven consecutive seasons …

“I’m gonna put that on my wall in my man cave for sure.”

Curry may have been joking about the poster, but it’s definitely something noteworthy. With an influx of shooters permeating the league, largely because of what Curry and Thompson have been able to do, they won’t be the only ones for long. But knowing that they’re the first two to do it during this run is something that fans are going to remember forever.
