Steph Curry, Kevin Durant highlight All-NBA teams

The NBA announced its All-NBA teams for the 2018-19 NBA season with Steph Curry and Kevin Durant making an appearance for the Warriors.

This is the sixth consecutive season in which Curry has mad an All-NBA team and the third time he’s been named First Team All-NBA. In the last two years, Curry finished on the second and third teams, respectively.

For Durant, this is the ninth time that he’s made an All-NBA team and only the third time that he didn’t finish on the first team (he was second two other times, too). This year, Durant had tough competition at the forward spot with two of the NBA’s MVP finalists taking those slots ahead of him.

A notable name left off of the All-NBA teams is Klay Thompson, as if he had made one of the teams, he would have qualified for the NBA’s supermax extension this summer. The start to his season is a huge reason why he may have been left off the All-NBA teams. Through his first 38 starts, Thompson only shot 34 percent from deep.

However, from January 1 on, Thompson shot 45 percent from deep, helping him finish the year shooting better than 40 percent from 3-point range for the eighth straight season.

Him not getting the supermax shouldn’t change anything with his future with the Warriors as many expect him to re-sign with the team as long as they offer him a max contract, which the team likely will.
