Steph Curry is pleased with Warriors winning road trip

The Golden State Warriors ended their five-game road trip with a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (March 31). The victory gave the Warriors a 4-1 record from their five away games and helped them build a two-game cushion over the Houston Rockets, who are waiting to pounce on any mistakes Steve Kerr’s team makes.

During their five-game road swing, the Warriors have faced the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, and the Spurs. Their only loss came to the Western Conference-leading Timberwolves. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Curry praised his team’s recent run of good performances and noted how important they have been to the team’s chances of qualifying for the play-in tournament.

“We did what we had to do. The Minnesota game was a tough way to start this trip, what with the fourth quarter and I feel like we let one go,” Curry said. “But we responded well. The teams we played are the ones you have to win to keep yourself in the fight. We did that. No style points, really, for any of it. But you get out of here with four wins and keep the momentum rolling.”

Golden State has eight games remaining on its schedule. It is not guaranteed a spot in the play-in tournament. As such, it needs to continue amassing wins at every opportunity if it wants a chance to play in the postseason.

The Warriors will face the Rockets on Thursday (April 4), in a game that could create some additional breathing room. Nevertheless, Kerr will need his star players at their best if the Warriors will navigate a tough stretch run if they want to make it into and past the play-in tournament.
