Stephen Curry is on such a roll this season that even his mistakes can serve as a perfect setup for a classic Curry moment.
We saw that happen on Monday night.
As time was winding down in the first quarter during the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Magic, Orlando’s Gary Harris opted to pick up fullcourt on Curry off the inbounds pass. Harris caught Curry loose with the ball, made the steal and promptly finished off the layup with 6.4 seconds to go in the quarter to cut the deficit to two points.
It could have been a nice momentum boost for Orlando to go into the break, but the play made Steph Curry angry. And as we’ve learned over the years, you don’t want to make Steph Curry angry.

After Harris’ basket, Curry went one-on-one with Harris again up court and pulled up to drain a contested buzzer-beater from midcourt. Curry calmly walked back to the bench as Harris stood at midcourt staring back at him in disbelief. But that’s what Steph does, and you won’t see a better response to a turnover than that shot right there.
That buzzer-beater lifted the Warriors into a dominant second quarter too as they went on to win, 126-95. Curry had 31 points and now sits just 16 threes behind Ray Allen on the all-time list.
