Steph Curry answered some weird questions about Canada before the NBA Finals

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are set to open the NBA Finals this week on the road in Toronto, which happens to be the largest city in Canada and home to Canada’s only NBA franchise. The more you know.

For Curry, he has a special connection with the city of Toronto. He spent nearly two years living there when his father, Dell Curry, played for the Raptors. His wife, Ayesha, was born in Toronto.

When there’s a six-day layoff between the end of the conference finals and the start of the NBA Finals, there’s only so much a media contingent can discuss without repeating itself. To freshen matters up during Monday’s media availability, Curry got asked about his time in Canada.

What started as Curry giving some sincere answers about his fond childhood memories got a bit off topic when Curry was asked if he and Ayesha “become like Canadian” when they visit Toronto. The exchange went something like this:

Curry was as confused as the rest of us.

“We only wear denim and go to watch hockey and say, (eh)?”

The exchange started at the 3-minute mark of this video.

Then came the follow-up questions about poutine, which Curry didn’t seem to be a huge fan of. He did, however, give Maynards candy a shoutout.

We really need basketball to start already. Thursday can’t come soon enough.
