Step up your snack game with these simple homemade tortilla chips

Do you find yourself constantly wandering back to your kitchen cupboards on lockdown? Staring into the fridge?

If you too are becoming a round-the-clock snacker, you might be growing tired of eating the same old treats every day.

We've found a recipe to really step up your snack game, making homemade tortilla chips with only three ingredients - two of which you almost definitely already have in the cupboards.

They're super quick to make, taste great, and cost only pennies.

We love them dipped in hummus or guacamole, or layered up with chilli con carne and cheese to make nachos.

It's also super easy to tweak the recipe to your liking by raiding your spice cupboard - paprika, garlic powder and cumin all work well.

To make them, simply take a shop-bought tortilla wrap and brush it with vegetable oil or rapeseed oil.

If you don't have a pastry brush, you can drizzle a very small amount of oil on the wrap and just rub it around with your hands, or use an oil spray.

Once both sides are lightly coated, sprinkle with salt and use a pair of scissors to cut the wrap into triangles.

Pop them on a baking tray in the oven at about 200C, making sure the tortilla chips aren't overlapping.

Bake for about eight minutes, or until they're crisp and golden, turning once halfway through.

Keep a watchful eye on them, as they tend to burn quite quickly.

Let them cool for a minute then dig in!
