Step father charged with murder of Burpengary toddler has case adjourned until March

Aaron Harley James, 33, had his case mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning for the domestic violence murder of his 16-month-old stepson, Jaylen Troy Priest.

The boy was rushed to Caboolture Hospital from a property in Burpengary in a critical condition on December 30 last year.

But the toddler died from his injuries last month.

Detectives from the Petrie child protection unit arrested Mr James at the property on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr James did not appear in court today and no application was made for bail.

The matter was adjourned for March 28.
