Stem cell donors lack ethnic diversity in Canada

Stem cell therapy has proven to be an effective way to treat a range of diseases. Donors need to be healthy and have genetic similarities.

But in Canada, donations are mainly from people of European descent.

That poses problems for a growing immigrant population, especially those of mixed ethnic backgrounds.
