
Dazzling ornaments captivate visitors at the Shonan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival on Friday, when the three-day event kicked off in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is one of the biggest of its kind in the nation, with an array of 10-meter tall colorful decorations at the main venue near JR Hiratsuka Station's north exit. About 1.55 million visitors are expected at the Tanabata event.
