Stella McCartney has shared details of her friendship with American pop superstar Taylor Swift and reveals she managed to get inside her head to help design her latest album style.
The 49-year-old fashion designer of course has music in her own veins being the daughter of rock-pop legend Sir Paul McCartney.
However, she has this week been unveiled as a key collaborator of 30-year-old Taylor – who shock released her new album, Evermore, on Friday.
Taylor enlisted the fashion sense of Stella to help craft the ‘style’ of her latest album – with the singer wearing the British designer’s threads in the artwork of the new album.
And it seems the two women have a deep friendship and understanding of each other.
Stella explained via Instagram : “When a friend comes to you, explaining she needs help styling and finding pieces to reflect her new secret project, it’s a precious gift.
“Creating the collection was effortless — a rare moment full of warmth and ease, at a time when friendship is more important than ever.”
She went one: “Knowing someone well makes creating something for them easier.
“With Taylor, everything happened so naturally; the pieces I made reflected the effortless emotionality of her album.
“Complementing a friend’s creation is rare and precious and feels incredibly special.”
Taylor herself had gushing words of appreciation for Stella – opening up on their collaboration during a YouTube Q&A in celebration of her surprise album release.
The pop starlet said: “Stella is so creative.
“I told her I had a secret project and she designed clothes that were EXACTLY what I imagined. I drove to her office, picked them up and took them into the woods.”
Fans have been eagerly analysing the new material produced by Taylor - with many speculating she may have wed British actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn due to the lyrics of the new record.
