Stella McCartney Just Collabed With H&M & We’ve Got A First Look At The Goods
It’s the Y2K reunion fashion girlies have been dreaming of.
Twenty years since they were last together, iconic fashion powerhouses Stella McCartney and H&M are bringing out their long-awaited second collaboration.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Stella McCartney is one of the most well-known designers of the 2000s. She launched her namesake brand in 2001 (so a true noughties queen) and has collaborated with huge names since, such as Taylor Swift. She even designed Meghan Markle‘s wedding dress, so you know she’s a big deal. A lifelong vegetarian, McCartney’s fashion focuses on alternative fabrics, new techniques and finding sustainability in the fashion industry.
The collection is everything you’d expect from a mind like McCartney’s. You’ll find certified organic cottons and wools; they’ve even used sustainable feedstock for coating the materials and moved away from fossil fuels. It’s a step I sure didn’t know about, but I’m glad they’ve taken it.
The collection is available from May 7 but lucky us, we’ve got a sneak peek at what H&M and Stella have planned.
So enough chat, let’s get to the goods.
Re-creating an iconic Met Gala look

First worn by Liv Tyler and Stella herself to the 1999 Met Gala, before being spotted on Paris Jackson at McCartney’s 2022 show, the rock t-shirt is nothing short of historic.
Originally an off-the-shoulder shirt, it’s now been re-imagined as a mini-tee. If you want to bring a little Met Gala energy into your wardrobe, this should be your first stop.
This’ll be available for $69.99.
A falabella chain top

This tank is a thick knit top with McCartney’s classic Falabella chain, so you’ll be dressed in true high-fashion style.
This takes the old “jeans and a nice top” idea and elevates it by a million.
This’ll be up for grabs for $249.
The cherry dress

They went digging through the archive for this one. Bringing out the iconic cherry print, this mesh dress is screaming cocktails in the garden or stealing the show at someone else’s birthday (my favourite activity).
Oh, and those sparkles? The sequins are made from 100 per cent Recycled PET and the beads are 100 per cent recycled glass. We love to see it!
Get your hands on this dress for $349.
This Madonna-esque embellished bra

Okay, now we’re having some fun! H&M and Stella really said let’s do the most and we love them for this. I don’t know if you’d wear this to a night out or maybe just chilling ’round the house but no matter what, you’ll look iconic.
Grab the world’s sparkliest bra for $299.
Your new everyday trousers

If you’re sitting there thinking you want something to wear to work (and the bra isn’t an option), these striped pants are it! They look like something the chicest woman in Copenhagen would wear.
These will be up for grabs for a cool $129.
The perfect wool coat

For outerwear, this wool coat is everything. It has that classic Stella McCartney style, leaning into gender fluid tailoring and clean lines.
Knowing how much our girl cares about fabric, you can be confident this will keep you warm and well-dressed all winter, as all the wool in this collection is Responsible Wool Standard certified.
Everyone’s fav new coat could be yours for just $499.
Faux snake-skin bag

This is just one of six bags in the collection and it is stunning. Perfect for an evening with the girls or a date night, a piece like this would fit perfectly into any wardrobe.
Ready to start accessorising? You’ll be able to buy this bag for $199.
The whole collection is even more expansive than this, with jeans, shirts, scarves, shoes and more all on offer. You can buy them online from May 7, or, for you lucky Sydneysiders and Melbourne baddies, you can head in store to see them IRL.
So if you’ve been ready to build a sustainable wardrobe but haven’t known where to start, the answer could have been right under your nose.
