An employee at Steinmetz College Prep on the Northwest Side was removed after an allegation of misconduct with a student.

A staff member was removed from the school, 3030 N. Mobile Ave., due to an allegation they “engaged inappropriately with a student,” principal Jaime Jaramillo Jr. said in a message to families Friday.

“Please know that CPS and Steinmetz have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that compromises student safety,” Jaramillo said.

Few details were released about the incident, including the time, location and type of alleged misconduct.

In the message, Jaramillo said parents of the student were notified and support services were offered. The CPS Office of Student Protections and Title 9 is investigating the allegation, Jaramillo said.

The message didn’t provide details about the role of the staff member.

CPS did not reply to a request for details Friday night.
