Stein: Memphis Grizzlies want a future 1st round pick for Igoudala

Although the Los Angeles Lakers and current Memphis Grizzlies wing Andre Igoudala have had their eyes on each other for some time now, the Grizzlies aren’t inclined to give the Lakers what they want. At least not yet.

Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that the Grizzlies are not only holding out for the right deal, but that they would like a future first round pick to move Iguodala to another team.

That asking price might seem high, but there will almost certainly be some other contending teams in the Western Conference that could use someone of Igoudala’s skill. Teams that need wing help could talk themselves into Igoudala, especially since he’s consistently elevated his play in the postseason over the last five years.

And considering the Lakers basically have no assets left after the Anthony Davis trade, them agreeing to a deal with Memphis seems highly unlikely. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies know this and are maximizing every bit of their leverage.
