Stefanos Tsitsipas became embroiled in a heated disagreement with the umpire during his Australian Open third round victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili.

The no, 14 seed triumphed in four sets, winning 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in just under three hours of play at the Margaret Court Arena.

But the Greek starlet was left fuming after an incident involving chair umpire Alexandra Robein in which he was bizarrely forced to a replay a point.

The 20-year-old was serving for the third set, having gone 5-3 up against his opponent from Georgia, and looked to have sealed the set when his serve went unreturned.

But the umpire intervened, claiming there had been a call from the line judge for let which made have been lost in the crowd's loud celebrations.

Tsitsipas received a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct after reacting angrily to the call, and subsequently went on to lose his advantage, before eventually winning the third set 7-5.

It didn't seem to affect him in the fourth set, however, as he became the first Greek man to reach the fourth round of two Grand Slams.

The pair did shake hands at the end but Tsitsipas was more concerned with celebrating with the vocal Greek support.

He will now face defending champion Roger Federer in the next round.
